Great Piling Pads, and for an OCD guy like myself it keeps my boat from getting dinged up.
We have a tight boat slip and the front corner of the pontoon was at risk. Actually, there is no way to get into the slip without hitting the dock. No solutions found seemed to do just what we wanted until we saw this fender. Perfect! Easy to put on and take off (we leave it on). It curves around the corner of the boat and absorbs the bump but doesn't push the boat like a round fender. We also like the thinness which gives us more room in the slip. Nice solution!
Very versatile product. I had an issue with my order and customer service was above and beyond. Have had it installed on pilings getting beat up by Florida sun, saltwater dips, and of course boats for about a year... still looks new.
I have an all aluminum 18 foot Ranger VX1788 deep water bass boat with painted graphics on the side. I often fish Lake Powell in Utah on which the weather, particularly wind, can change quickly. It only takes me a minute to deploy 4 of the medium Impact Fenders to protect my boat as I come into a dock to unload my partner to get the truck/trailer. I have done this in 60 mph winds with NO damage to my boat; that's not possible with any other fender out there on the market. They are also very durable; fantastic product and I recommend them highly.
Space on a boat is a precious commodity and these flat fenders take up less space and are easier to stow. They also function just as good as my round fenders and seem to be easier to get to the optimal height. Finally, they allow my senior crew members to get a little closer to the dock when taking that step off the gunwale.
I get a lot of compliments on them they are easier to store than my round previous fenders and they can also be used as a seat. The only disadvantage is they spin when is is windy and when your coming in to the dock it shortens the adjustable tether. I would put weights towards the bottom and thus would prevent the spinning. I have a 29 coastal Wellcraft so anyone with a long boat would need the Large Impact fenders.
I have a 20 ft Starcraft Aluminum bowrider (Fishmaster 196) and have always used the large round traditional fenders 18" diameter that are used for a 24 ft size boat. I don't have a lot of space to store them as it's important to me that I keep the dock rash off the finish of my boat when trailering and using many different docks at many different launches. The flat fender works greats and covers a much wider area to keep dock damage away from the side of my boat. I use 2. They take a fraction of the space in my boat to store them. Thumbs up!
